  1. Olympic Photo Match-Up

Find the student with your matching Olympic diver.

2. Why is photography important?

Find the "Why is photography important?" essential question in Schoology. Type in the four reasons mentioned in the video into the assignment and submit for 5 classwork points.

3. Exposure Triangle Review

Shutterpeed-Shutter speed in photography is the length of time a camera's shutter stays open when taking a photo.

How is it measured?

Aperture-

Aperture is the adjustable opening in a camera lens that controls how much light enters the camera and hits the image sensor. It's a key part of the exposure triangle, along with ISO and shutter speed. Aperture affects the brightness of the image and the depth of field, which is how clear or blurry certain parts of the photo are

Is a 2.5 fstop a small aperture (lens opening) or a large aperture?

ISO-

ISO is a numerical value that represents a camera's sensitivity to light, with higher numbers indicating greater sensitivity and the ability to capture more light

What ISO would you use on a dark night when shooting the stars?

4. Exposure Triangle Outdoor Activity

Outdoor stations:

  1. Water Toss

Toss a cup of water and capture the water mid-air. You'll need to adjust your shutterspeed for sharpness while also adjusting your aperture and ISO to adjust the brightness. (You do not need to have a model in the shot.)

2. Card Drop

Drop the cards and capture a sharp shot of them falling.

3. Tumbling Castle

Build a castle with the blocks and capture a sharp shot of the castle tumbling down.

When we return to class we will upload our photos and edit in Canva (Photoshop is not up and running until next week.)
